Poet’s Note:-رزاق خان کی انگریزی میں نظم اپنے مرحوم دوست کے لیے
I wrote this piece of poetry in 1999 on the sad and sudden demise of my good
friend and cricket companion Nassir Method Asia. Nassir was a lovely cricketer
and a nice guy. He played a marvellous role in our club’s numerous triumphs but
he lost the game of his life against the tormentor disease of cancer and met a
premature death at the age of 32. He was died in the holy month of
Ramadan.

The
Poem;
GOODBYE NASIR:-
THE WAY YOU DEPARTED
IS HARDLY BELIEVABLE
THE DAY YOU GRANTED IS RARELY ACHIEVABLE
THE STYLE YOU SMILED IS MERELY
FORGETTABLE
THE CRICKET YOU PLAYED IS
PARTLY REPEATABLE
YOUR LOVE FOR YOUR FRIENDS WAS NEVER
CONCEALABLE
THE WAY YOU ENTERED GREECE IS SELDOM
PERMISSIBLE
THE DISEASE YOU SUFFERED IS BARELY
TREATABLE
ALTHOUGH
YOU HAVE GONE FOREVER BUT YOUR MEMORIES WILL NEVER
I DON'T WANT
TO SEE YOU OFF BUT IT IS INEVITABLE
SO I CAN JUST SAY AND
PRAY
GOODBYE NASIR, GOODBYE!
BE A ROSE OF THE GARDEN OF
EDEN
MAY YOUR LOVE EVER GROW IN MY
MEMORIES
GOODBYE DEAR FRIEND, GOODBYE!
